We didn't have a direct donor this time, so we used what was left of Mr. Dave's blood from last time and got the rest from the Blood Bank. Thanks again, Mr Dave.

After all that trouble with my gall bladder last month the doctors have decided that my gall bladder has to come out completely, or else this will just keep happening. It already happened before last year. Today we went to talk to Dr. Plumley. He's the surgeon who will be taking my gall bladder out. He's also the surgeon who put my ports in. He's taken good care of me and next week he'll be doing it again. On Friday the 19th I will be going back to the hospital for surgery. He said there a couple ways to do it, and he and another doctor will decide that morning which way they will choose. One is better than the other because it leaves smaller scars and doesn't take as long to recover from. The other leaves a bigger scar and will keep me in the hospital longer. Please pray that I'll be a candidate for the better option. I don't want to be in the hospital any longer than I have to and I've got enough scars already.

My transfusion was a little early this time around so I'll be "topped up" for my surgery tomorrow. Thanks for trying to donate, Uncle Tito. Maybe I'll get to use your blood next time around. This time I'd like to thank all the kind people who regularly donate their blood for people like me.

Well, it's been a long day and tomorrow will be even longer. But for now, I'm off to bed. Thank you to all the people out there who have been praying for me. I've said my prayers too, and I'll go to sleep knowing God is with me every step of the way.

Much to my chagrin, Mommy woke me up extra early today to get me ready for the hospital. We had to be there at 6:30 in the morning, so I shrugged it off and hopped in the car and before long we were there. One of the things they did to get me ready was give me some "happy juice". I don't know what was in it, but after I drank it I couldn't stop giggling. I don't remember much after that.

The next thing I knew, I was waking up in another room feeling very groggy. The nurses kept watch over me there while I continued to wake up. After a while they wheeled my bed out of the room and into the hall where Mommy, Daddy and Lily were all waiting for me. I was happy to see them, but I didn't feel like saying much. Everything around me seemed so slow and I just didn't feel like moving at all. Good thing the nice lady was there to wheel my bed all the way up to my room.

After a short ride in the elevator and down some halls, we made it up to my room on the 6th floor. It turned out I was sharing it with another little girl who had the exact same operation I did that same morning. Once we got settled in, the nurse brought me a popsicle treat and I rested in my bed for the rest of the day. Nana sent me a nice balloon and silly monkey and Mommy gave me a Mickey Mouse to keep me company. My Curious George was there with me too, of course.

My belly was pretty sore. Fortunately, the doctors decided I was able to have the better procedure so I wouldn't have to stay in the hospital as long. I have 3 new scars on my belly now, but at least they're small. The doctors did a great job. When they took my gall bladder out, they said it was big and ugly. It definitely had to go. I'm sure not going to miss it. I just can't wait to feel better so I can go home. In the mean time, I'll be resting here in my room with Mommy and hopefully getting some sleep tonight.

Thank you to all the people who have been praying for me. God has taken good care of me.

Good News! The doctors decided that I was doing well enough that I could go home today. I only had to stay one night. This was much better than the 6 nights last month. My belly is still very sore and my wounds bleed a little now and then, but otherwise I'm doing pretty well. It hurts to stand up straight, but that didn't keep me from walking out of there. I couldn't wait to get home.

The first thing I did when we got home was take a very long much-needed nap. Boy was it nice to be back in my own bed. After I woke up, Daddy told me I got some mail. I love to get mail! I was excited to find out that several people had sent me get well cards. Thank you! I really do appreciate every one of them. And I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers too.
