Today was Independence Day. I'm not totally sure what it's all about, but it seems to be a reason to celebrate. I like to celebrate, so Mommy and Daddy took me down to an outdoor 4th of July celebration in a town nearby. There were people everywhere and there were lots of things to do. People were performing music up on a stage all day long, big horses giving people carriage rides, clowns painting faces, free balloons, and lots of free food to eat. I even got to ride down a big inflatable slide with Mommy. It was a long wait in the hot sun, but it was worth it. I'm a bit of a thrill-seeker, you see. This Independence Day thing was lots of fun. Some day I'll learn what it's all about.

I love swiming so much I just had to share the excitement with my good friend, Tyler. So today I invited him over with his mommy and we had a pool party in the front yard. Mommy even got me my own little "water park" so we could have lots of room to play. Boy was that lots of fun. My favorite part was the water slide. Tyler and I took turns riding it over and over. Poppy even showed up to join the fun. I kept asking him to join us, but he was content to just sit and relax with Mommy. As you can probably tell by now, I love the water. I can't wait to go swimming again.

Today's transfusion was a first. It was the first time I had to get donated blood from more than one donor. I'm getting bigger and bigger and that means I need more blood every time I have a transfusion. People who donate can only give a certain amount, so it could be that from now on, I'll have to get blood from more than one person at a time. Plus, the more blood I get, the longer my transfusions will take. No matter. I'll sit for however long it takes to feel better.

Last night my Papa's house burnt down. Thankfully, he made it out okay. But he lost everything. We all feel so bad for him. He always wants to know how I'm doing and if he can do anything to help our family out. I'm sad because I remember we were just down there visiting him at his house just a few months ago around Christmas time and we had such a good time. And now it's all gone. He's sad too, because there were so many things that he can't replace, but he's going to be okay. We said a little prayer that he will be able to get back on his feet soon and thanked God that he made it out alive. We love you, Papa.
