Remember those nice people that let us stay in their house when we went up to Boston last year? Well, they recently moved down near us and now we get to visit with them all the time. Today they invited us over to go swimming. I had never been swimming before but it sure sounded like fun. I was a little nervous at first, but it didn't take long for me to get comfortable in the water. I had my floaties on and Mommy was right there with me. Believe it or not, I even started jumping off the side of the pool into Mommy's arms in the water. That was my favorite part. My friend Jocie joined me and we were both jumping in over and over and over. Finally we stopped to have lunch and give Mommy a break. The whole day was lots of fun and I can't wait to go swimming again soon. Thanks for having us over, Miss Liz and family.

We tried something new today. I usually get my transfusions in the afternoon, but it's been harder and harder for me to take my afternoon naps, so we switched to mornings. I'm not so sure that's better. Mama has to wake me up an hour early in the morning, put on my numbing cream, and get me dressed. Next thing I know I'm in the car, still half-awake, on my way to the clinic. I'm definitely awake, though, by the time I see that big IV port needle coming at me. Good thing I can't feel it.

I wanted to take a moment to thank my Mommy for all she does for me. She is the best mommy ever. It's a hard enough job being a mommy these days, but even harder when you throw in my medical problems. She gives so much of her time to taking care of me and it means a lot to me. I'm a happy little girl, despite my anemia, and I know Mommy has everything to do with it. I love you, Mommy.

It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by since my last birthday. A lot has happened this past year, and most of it was good. It's actually Mommy's birthday today. Mine isn't for four more days, but we decided to celebrate it on the weekend. Just like last year, we went down to visit family back home and we had my birthday party at Nana's house. All my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents came to celebrate with me. It was a great time and I got lots of wonderful presents. I'm most excited about my new tricycle and activity desk. Thank you to everyone for the great gifts and good company.

My friends down at the clinic did a wonderful thing and threw me another birthday party today. It was a pleasant surprise. My friends Tyler and Julia were there along with several of my nurses. They brought food to eat, balloons and a beautiful birthday cake with Winnie-the-Pooh decorations. There sure are a lot of people out there that care about me. I am so grateful for everything they do. Thank you all.

I had so much fun swimming at our friends' house a few weeks ago that Mommy and Daddy got me my very own swimming pool. It's just my size, too, and it's not too deep. I had such a good time splashing and dumping water all over. I love the water. It's a great way to cool off on a warm Spring day.
