My hemoglobin got down pretty low this week so I got my 15th transfusion today. It's getting to be pretty routine at this point. My broviac tube makes it much easier but the main thing I don't like is how long it takes. I have to basically sit still in that little room for over 3 hours. That's just not fun for a kid. I've gotta roam free! Mama brings things for me to do and sometimes she sings me to sleep, but overall, it's just not fun. I do feel a lot better when it's all over though, and that's the most important thing.

So there I was playing with Dada in the family room and I decided to climb up on a diaper box that was sitting nearby. Normally climbing and sitting on something would be entertaining enough for me, but Dada took to the next level. Suddenly this stationary object became a thrill ride and I was beside myself with glee. He grabbed hold of me and the box and started sliding us around like a go-cart. Well this of course, was the greatest thing ever. I couldn't get enough and we didn't stop until dinner time. Who knew that an empty box could be so much fun?

I wasn't able to take regular baths for a long time because of the tube in my chest, but my doctor recently told Mama I could as long as we did a dressing change right after my bath. So today I finally got to try out the big bath tub. It was like my own little swimming pool compared to the baby tub I've been using for so long. I gotta tell ya, I love the water. It's a shame I can't spend more time in it. Hopefully I won't need this tube in my chest forever.

First there was sitting up. Then came crawling. Followed by standing up. And finally... walking. It's been a long road, but I'm finally able to get from point A to point B in an upright fashion. Granted, these two points usually aren't that far apart, but hey, it's a start. Mama and Dada have been practicing with me for a while now. Mama would stand me up, aim me in Dada's direction and let me go and I'd stumble forward a few feet into his arms. Then he'd turn me around and repeat. But today, I did it all on my own. I pulled myself up next to the couch and walked myself over to the foot rests. Mama and Dada were so proud of me. Look out world, I'm mobile.
