I was really feeling a bit weary today. I'm due for another transfusion soon and my body is letting me know about it. Mama noticed how down I was feeling and decided to spring a new toy on me to help cheer me up. I now have my very own house! Well, sorta. It's the front of a house and it's called the Learning Home. There are all kinds of things to play with and do. My favorite is the built-in 'radio' that plays the ABC song. I played that over and over. I also love to turn the front porch light off and on and crawl back and forth through the front door. Dada tried to do that too but I made a game out of slamming his head in the door. Good times.

Well at least I made it through the month of July without a transfusion. I managed to go a little longer than 4 weeks. This transfusion was special because Nana donated her blood for me. Boy it sure is night and day between how I feel before and after a transfusion. You can see in the picture on the left that I'm pale and yellow and my lips have no color. That was two days ago. Then in the picture on the right, I have my color back and my lips are nice and pink. And of course, I'm smiling. That was today. Thank you, Nana!

  • 3 Another Visit to Sea World 5 Photos | 0 Comments

Much to my delight, we made another trip back to Sea World today. I love seeing all the animals. The dolphins are my favorite. I enjoy watching them swim around and play with each other. We got to see a brand new dolphin show that wasn't there the last time we visited. It was really neat, but wow, was it hot. August has to be the hottest month of them all. That didn't stop us, though. We got to see lots of other animals too, like the sea lions, the penguins and, ooooh, the sharks! I'm only one year old and I've been to Sea World three times, and I love it more and more every time. Can we go back again tomorrow, Dada?

From what I hear, babies love to have a security item. Something that makes us feel at ease when the world seems all out of sorts, or when we're in a tizzy and we don't know why. Some babies have a blankie. Others have a favorite stuffed animal. Me, I have my Scrunchy. Mama gave it to me once a long time ago and it's been my go-to item ever since. I'm not sure what draws me to my Scrunchy, but it always puts me at ease. I think it was because, early on, it used to smell like Mama's hair and that just made me feel better. Nowadays it pretty much smells like drool all the time, but I don't care. It still holds its spell over me. It doesn't matter how bad things are going on any given day. I always find my "Happy Place" when I've got my Scrunchy.

One of my good friends, Miss Monica, is moving away in a few days. She was always so happy to see me when I came by to visit and always wanted to know how I was doing. She even bought me some nice outfits and sent me balloons when I had to go to the hospital. Sadly, she is leaving to move out west so tonight she took me, Mama and Dada out to dinner for one last visit. We had a great time and the food was excellent. Thank you, Miss Monica. We will miss you.
