Back we go for another transfusion. Not fun. Boy am I sleepy. Maybe I can take a good long nap during this one, and then hopefully I'll wake up feeling better. Mama sure loves me. She's with me the whole time, holding me in her arms and singing softly in my ear. She makes it easier to relax and fall asleep.

Get this, the helmet has another down-side. I've lost count how many times I've heard strangers come up to Mama and say things like, "So how old is your son?" or "I bet he's gonna play football when he grows up." Come on, people! I may be wearing a helmet, but I'm also usually wearing pink, or a dress, or both! Apparently that's not enough of a clue. So Mama bought a sticker pack with flowers and a phrase about girls and decorated my helmet. Hopefully that will do the trick.

What in the world is this? I woke up with slimy stuff in my nose and my head hurts. I was just starting to feel better after my transfusion and Mama said I had come down with something called a "cold." I don't feel cold. I feel yucky. They should call it a "yuck." Mama gave me some yuck medicine to help me feel better. How long does this yuck thing last?

All this time Mama and Dada have been talking to me and I haven't been able to say anything back. Sure, I make noises and silly expressions, but they can only convey so much. I hear my parents say words, but I have no idea what they're talking about. I have all these grand thoughts in my head, all kinds of things that I want to say, feelings I want to express. They've all been building up in my head ever since I showed up on this earth, but I hadn't really been able to let them out.

Finally the time arrived for me to say my piece, and once I had their full attention I laid it on them. I looked up at both my parents, took a deep breath and with a smile on my face said... "Dada."

I'm not sure what this Valentine's Day thing is about, but it must have something to do with my favorite color, red. Mama likes to dress me up in red and today was no exception. As always, she wanted to take pictures and I was feeling good today so I played along. We went outside and I worked the camera in my new Valentine outfit.
