First, I was born, which goes without sayin'. I showed up 3 weeks early and weighed in at 6 pounds - 6 ounces. Mama and Dada were so glad to finally meet me. All these other people were there to greet me too, which was nice. After they cleaned me up they wrapped me up tight, snug as a bug. I got to hang out with everyone for a little while but then they took me away. I guess they thought I was special because they set me up in my very own tanning bed. It was actually quite cozy. Mommy and Daddy came by all the time to feed me and keep me company.

Mama and Dada went home for the night. I'm trying to catch a few zzz's here but there are so many sounds capturing my attention. All these strange machines beeping close by and across the room. Neighbor babies gurgling, cooing and crying here and there. That one kid with the crazy hair two baby bins away making quite a racket. The nurses come and put him at ease and it's quiet again for a while. I miss Mama and Dada. At least I know they'll be back tomorrow. They always are.

So there I was lying there in my hospital bed checking out the ceiling and I hear a tapping on the window. I look over and I see all these people staring back at me. Lo and behold it's Mama and Dada, and a whole bunch of other people, all there to visit me. Both Nanas and Papas and my uncle Bryan and auntie Krissy were grinning at me through the glass. They each came in one at a time and snuggled me. What a treat that was. Unfortunately they all had to leave after a while, but I knew they'd be back.
