« Back to ListGoodbye Gallbladder
Much to my chagrin, Mommy woke me up extra early today to get me ready for the hospital. We had to be there at 6:30 in the morning, so I shrugged it off and hopped in the car and before long we were there. One of the things they did to get me ready was give me some "happy juice". I don't know what was in it, but after I drank it I couldn't stop giggling. I don't remember much after that.
The next thing I knew, I was waking up in another room feeling very groggy. The nurses kept watch over me there while I continued to wake up. After a while they wheeled my bed out of the room and into the hall where Mommy, Daddy and Lily were all waiting for me. I was happy to see them, but I didn't feel like saying much. Everything around me seemed so slow and I just didn't feel like moving at all. Good thing the nice lady was there to wheel my bed all the way up to my room.
After a short ride in the elevator and down some halls, we made it up to my room on the 6th floor. It turned out I was sharing it with another little girl who had the exact same operation I did that same morning. Once we got settled in, the nurse brought me a popsicle treat and I rested in my bed for the rest of the day. Nana sent me a nice balloon and silly monkey and Mommy gave me a Mickey Mouse to keep me company. My Curious George was there with me too, of course.
My belly was pretty sore. Fortunately, the doctors decided I was able to have the better procedure so I wouldn't have to stay in the hospital as long. I have 3 new scars on my belly now, but at least they're small. The doctors did a great job. When they took my gall bladder out, they said it was big and ugly. It definitely had to go. I'm sure not going to miss it. I just can't wait to feel better so I can go home. In the mean time, I'll be resting here in my room with Mommy and hopefully getting some sleep tonight.
Thank you to all the people who have been praying for me. God has taken good care of me.
Thank You!
