Donate Blood For Sydney

It is helpful to know your blood type and CMV status ahead of time. If you aren't sure about either of these, you can easily find out by getting a blood test through your doctor or donating at your nearest blood center or Big Red Bus. Once you know these we can determine if you'll be able to donate for Sydney.

Sydney's blood is O+ but she can also accept O- blood. The donated blood must be CMV- as well. She typically needs new blood approximately every 3 to 4 weeks and we'd like to have the blood donated right before a transfusion to give it a chance to last as long as possible. If it turns out you have compatible blood and you want to be a regular donor, we will try to contact you within a week of her next transfusion to see if you are available to give. Since donors are asked to wait 8 weeks between donations, at most, we would contact you before every other transfusion.
